John Schroeder, businessman from Milwaukee, came to Manatee County Florida in the 1900s and purchased land that became Schroeder-Manatee Ranch. It was known for cattle ranching and vegetable/citrus farming, among other industries. This painting captures some of those elements, but also ‘plays’ on the name of what is now Lakewood Ranch, a beautiful development that has maintained its natural charm, while creating a self-contained community for a growing population. 36X24 inches, oil on panel.
SOLD! Canvas prints and wood signs are available.
